Fashion Obsessions

I just received the Barneys Fall Catalogue in the mail and as I was flipping through I discovered some new items to add to my wish list. Of course by wish list I mean my "I wish I could afford this stuff" list. Anyways, here it is:

Initially when I saw this bag I though "Gee, I don't remember seeing this Chanel bag". Upon closer inspection I realized that was because it was actually by Lanvin. No bother. Either way, it's absolutely gorgeous.

So, I'm thinking my new motto for the fall will be "go big or go home". This blouse, while beautiful is the kind of piece that I normally would be too scared to try. But what is fashion if you don't take a risk now and then. I love this blouse because it makes a strong statement but still manages to be feminine.

One of my favorite new trends is studs. Unfortunately all I own currently is a set of studded bangles. In adding to my collection, these shoes would totally be a must have.

Paul & Joe teams up with Citizens of Humanity

These days, it seems like tons of clothing lines are enlisting the help of guest designers to add something new or exciting to their collections. Following in this trend, Paul & Joe’s Sophie Albou is teaming up with Los Angeles based jean line, Citizens of Humanity. Albou is using Paul & Joe’s signature Dylan cut style and recreating it into a special Dylan cut boyfriend jean.

"This collaboration seemed like a natural progression for the Paul & Joe brand and it was a pleasure to work with such a great team behind the iconic denim label," Albou told Vogue.com. "The Special Dylan jeans echo Paul & Joe's classic style and tailoring whilst also offering the L.A. relaxed look which Citizens of Humanity do so well."

The special edition jean is available in Paul & Joe’s London boutique. Let’s hope it’s available in U.S. stores soon. For more information visit www.paulandjoe.com.

Lily Allen for Chanel

Lily Allen has been signed on as the face for Chanel's new line Coco Cocoon. The handbag line was conceptualized to be a combination of sportwear and luxury. The black and white photos were shot by Karl Lagerfeld himself. I love the rocker-chic edge of the photos and can't wait to see the entire collection. Ads will appear in magazines starting October 3rd.

Gilt Groupe Launches Gilt Fuse

There's not much that makes me happier than a good sale. Even when I'm broke, I find myself virtual shopping online looking for great deals. One of my favorite sites, which I blog about constantly, is Gilt.com. Gilt is one of many sample sale sites, but in my opinion is far and away the best. Although I have made quite a few purchases on the site, I often find myself clicking through photos of discounted merchandise wishing that I could buy more. I mean, the discounts are great, but in my world, at least, 65% off of $1500 is still way out of my price range. There are lower prices lines featured on the site, like Ali Ro, Edun, and DVF that I can sometimes afford, but there's tons of stuff that I can't.

I'm not alone in this unfortunate situation. Of Gilt Groupe's 1.2 million members, 250,000 log on twice a week and don't buy anything. More than half of Gilt's members are, like me, in their 20's and just can't afford to purchase higher priced items (even those on super sale).

In order to reach this demographic, next month, Gilt Groupe will launch Gilt Fuse which will feature lower priced items from brands like Generra, Diesel, and Laundry. While Gilt.com is already popular, this new site is sure to be a crowd pleaser. I personally can't wait to check it out!

Stella McCartney Gets Animated This Fall

How cute is this? I such a fan of Stella McCartney and this ad campaign is so cute and original. Not to mention, Bambi is one of my absolute favorite old-school childhood movies. Click here to view the entire ad image: http://www.vogue.co.uk/news/daily/090720-fashion-fawn.aspx.

Brian Reyes at Gilt Groupe!

On Monday, July 20th, Gilt Groupe will be selling, for the first time, Brian Reyes merchandise.

Brian Reyes, who began his self titled label in 2006, has quickly become one of fashion's most promising designers. His sophisticated, breezy collections have already garnered the attention of editors, stylists, and celebrities, landing the designer credit in major publications like Vogue and Elle. Regular fans of the line include starlets like Rachel Bilson, Jennifer Garner, Kate Hudson and Leighton Meester.

For those unfamiliar, Gilt Groupe is a website that holds weekly sample sales of some of the best, and most exciting designers. Product is sold for up to 70% off, and the selection is always amazing. Gilt Groupe is by invitation only, so if you're not currently a member, you can sign up using this personal invitation link: http://www.giltgroupe.com/invite/lbms. Adding even more excitement to this sale, I've gotten an exclusive preview from the Brian Reyes sales team on some of the pieces that will be available for purchase on Monday. Check out the looks below:
